A small deposit is not a small risk
Starting with $10 limits what you can lose to what you deposit — it does not make trading low risk. Leveraged positions can lose their full value quickly, and a beginner account is exposed to exactly the same market conditions as a large one.
With leverage up to 1:400 on the Standard account, a small balance can control a position far larger than itself. That cuts both ways, and losses accumulate faster than most people expect on a first account.
Margin call applies at 80% and stop out at 20%. Neither guarantees your losses will stop at a particular figure. Negative balance protection means you will not owe more than you deposited — it does not protect the deposit itself.
Most people should treat a first deposit as the cost of learning the platform, not as capital expected to grow. Only trade with funds you can afford to lose.

How small a trade can actually be
The minimum trade size is 0.01 lots across every account type — one hundredth of a standard lot. That is what makes a small balance workable: exposure can be kept proportionate while you learn how the platform behaves.
